Paid Summer Internships

 

The MRCC is funding two (2) summer internships. One will be at Starcom MediaVest Group and the other at OMD. These internships will last a minimum of 6 weeks and the recipients will receive a $1,200 honorarium from the MRCC. Qualified candidates must be enrolled in a four-year college or university towards an undergraduate or master’s degree in advertising, research, marketing or other related major. Candidates must be entering their Junior or Senior year of course work. Course credit should be arranged prior to accepting the internship.

 

OMD Internship – Chicago, IL

OMD is the largest and most innovative media communications specialists in the world, with more than 140 offices in 80 countries, and was named the Most Creative Agency in the World by the Gunn Report for Media for the fourth consecutive year. This OMD internship opportunity will provide hands-on experience to college students interested in the media industry, by not only assigning them to specific client teams for the summer, but also by offering various training and development classes. It will assist interns in furthering their knowledge of the different departments and facets of media, and how those departments interact.

Tasks may include, but are not limited to:

·         Helping to prepare presentation materials and working on client projects

·         Working with competitive and consumer research

·         Working with the media community by attending media rep meetings, obtaining media kits, updating contact lists for clients and media reps

·         Attending relevant training classes

Position Description:
Starcom Mediavest Group seeks a student with junior or senior level eligibility and a passion for understanding consumer media behaviors and motivations to assist group members with various day-to-day client and/or agency tasks
Required Skills:
- Entering Junior or Senior year in a college or university working towards a Bachelor's Degree or higher
- Intermediate PC Skills, specifically with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- SAS or SPSS and basic statistical proficiency is ideal
- Desire to work in advertising and/or media research
