Why major in computer science?
The computer science department at Carthage is a dynamic group of faculty and students that collectively participate in one of the most exciting and active high-tech fields in the modern world. We offer a modern and interdisciplinary array of courses and individual research experiences tailored to the interests of our students as well as to the rapidly changing demands of the high technology job market.
Carthage computer science students have gone on to exciting positions in research, software engineering, and a variety of web programming careers. The technical and analytical skills cultivated in the CS program are universally valuable assets, whether your goal is self-employment or high-tech industry. Those that wish to pursue graduate training in computer science have been succesful in top graduate programs around the country.
While at Carthage, CS students have the opportunity to take classes in artificial intelligence, database management, network programming, and other modern fields to supplement a solid foundation in software design and computing logic.
