Here's what we're doing...

About this page...

This page describes all of the senior projects that are currently taking place. In order to successfully complete the ESNS program, each student must submit, present, and defend a comprehensive business plan. Take a look at what we are doing...

ESNS 410

At the last update, projects have not been assigned. Check back in the middle of September to learn what the ESNS seniors are producing.

Past Projects

The following projects were successfully completed during the 1999-2000 academic year:

Sarah Johnson & Charlene Sturino

Charlene wrote preliminary legal documents for a professor at MSOE who wanted to start his own company in molecular modeling. Sarah Johnson wrote all of the financial and marketing plans. Charlene's job was to handle all the tedious legal paperwork involved in starting a business. She created documents for licensing, partnerships, incorporation, non-disclosure, intellectual property, teaming, operating agreements, etc. She also looked into legal issues that could have arose through the agreement between the hopeful company and MSOE.

Melissa Lowe

Melissa wrote a business plan for Dr. Susan Fleuchaus, a chiropractor who was interested in expanding her business to include other health care professionals (possibly a physical therapist, massage therapist, acupunturist, and/or a nutritionist ). The goal of the new clinic was to serve her patients with a higher quality of care by coordinating the efforts of several health professionals to work together for the good of the patient.

Jason Burney

Jason worked to compose a National Insitute of Health Small Business Innovative Research Grant to fund research on the development of a hand held tester for drugs of abuse. If possible this device will be marketable to companies that perform initial drug screenings of their employees, companies that perform random drugs tests, law enforcement and a number of other companies.

Brian Jones

Brian worked in conjunction with United Hospital System, Kenosha Memorial Hospital, and St. Catherine's Hospital in Kenosha to devise a business plan to re-build St. Catherine's Hospital in a new location. The project involved various studies including population studies of the tri-county area, market studies for health care in the areas, and projections through the year 2025. Once all of this information was compiled, hospital capacities and services were determined followed by a cost analysis study.

Alex Doroshko

Alex's project revolved around a major software application "payroll system", used by large companies. A survey was developed to gather detailed information about the processing problems related to payroll applications within Fortune 500 companies. A start-up company developed a payroll system software product to address these concerns. The reminder of the project involved developing a business plan to help determine the marketability and financial aspects related to the new payroll software product.

Cari Corbett

Cari's project was to write a business plan for a company called Maximizing Restaurant Profits (MRP) which optimizes seating arrangements in restaurants. It sells its consulting services to restaurant chains, allowing restaurants to operate at full seating capacity, staisfying customers with the speed at which they are seated and served, and thus maximizing profits.

Duwar Kollie

Duwar's senior project was called the Supercenter Project. The core purpose of this project was to introduce the concept of an all in one shopping center which has over the years revolutionized the way we shop in the US. With South Africa becoming a fast growing market for foreign investment, an investment of this kind is expected to yield a higher rate of return. Secondly, the Supercenter plan promoted the products of SA manufacturing industries and also introduced different brands of goods on the SA market.
