What we have done with a history major!
One of the most frequently asked questions that members of the Department hear from prospective students, parents, and currently enrolled students is: What can I do with a History major if I decide to become one? Rather than provide you with reliable but overly used responses like "it is a good general preparatory major in an ever changing world," or "you can always teach," the Department would like to share with you the actual career experiences of a number of our History alumni who were kind enough to reply to a survey that we sent out in the Spring of 2000. A brief review of this list will demonstrate better than any general reassurances we can give about the great variety of career opportunities open to History majors:
