My name is Andrew Nimmer and I graduated from Carthage College in May, 2001 with a major in Japanese and a minor in Communications & Asian Studies. In my sophomore year at Carthage I worked as an intern for Mizuno Sports in Tokyo, Japan, and then in my junior year I studied Japanese and Japanese culture at Tokyo Gakugei University under the Japanese Government Monbusho Scholarship. After graduation I was offered a job with Japan Airlines and I am currently in charge of JAL In-Flight Services at O'Hare International Airport. Studying Japanese at Carthage College has truly opened up many new and exciting opportunities for my future. I hope that all students at Carthage have the same opportunity to study and learn more about Japanese and Japanese culture. Good luck with your Japanese studies!
2001年の 5 月にカーセジ大学で日本語専攻コミュニケーション副専攻で卒業したアンドリュー・ニマーです。大学 2 年生の時にミズノ株式会社のインタンとして日本のビジネスを勉強し、そして大学 3 年生の時に文部省からの奨学金のおかげで日本語日本文化研修留学生として約 1年間日本で生活をしました。卒業後、日本航空株式会社に就職して、現在日本航空シカゴ支店で客室サービスを担当しています。カーセジ大学での日本語の勉強は色々な面で、新たな機会を私に与えてくれました。カーセジ大学の学生の皆さんに私と同じような機会がある事を願います。日本語の勉強を頑張って下さい！
