1.  Upcoming Events, conferences, etc.  MAA is April 15-16!   Math awareness week is April 25-29.  PME banquet is April 28.  The party for graduating seniors at my home will probably be May 19 for lunch.  Special session for education majors is April 26.  Details to follow.

2.  Assessment.   I will again choose random sections for the imbedded questions. Be looking for the e-mail!

3.  The Senior Math Awards.  By all measures (research, classroom performance, and service), we have another very strong group of seniors.   We need to decide how many awards to give (if any), and who deserves them.

2005 seniors:  James Beaman, Sam Bickel, Randy Cole, Jesse Cyrus, Jameson Gagnepain, Jennifer Gould, Andy Grafenauer, Jack Hathway, Nathan Hawk, Erin Hill, Sara Lehrer, Margaret Manteufel, Elisabeth Richardt

4.  Searches for next year.  I am proposing a tenure-track search for an additional mathematician to take place in 2005-2006, with the new position to begin fall of 2006.  Official action as a department will be requested.  A draft of my proposal is available at this link.

5.  Executive Committee Item:  "The Departments have been asked to report by April 14 on the ways that they have helped to advance any of the goals of the 2005-2010 Strategic Plan, with these reports submitted to the Division Chairs for transmittal to the Faculty Strategic Planning Committee."  The strategic plan is available for you to read at http://www.carthage.edu/President/2005-2010.pdf, beginning at page 40.

6.  We need a shortened biography of each of you- one short paragraph, including E-mail and phone number,  PhD school and year started at Carthage.  E-mail  them to me.  Also, we need three students for photos/interviews.  Any suggestions?  I'll tell you why at the meeting.
