The Carthage Chamber Orchestra performs music written for string orchestra as well as works for small chamber orchestra. Recent composers performed include Barber, Biber, Gould, Hanson, Husa, Mendelssohn, Purcell, Vaughan Williams and Warlock. The 2005-2006 season includes music from Capriol Suite by Peter Warlock, as well as Symphony #25 by Mozart and Bela Bartok's Romanian Dances.

Rehearsals are scheduled from 7:00-9:30 on Thursday evenings for the string orchestra, and chamber orchestra with winds. Occassionaly, on Fridays from 3:45 to 4:50, there are additional rehearsals for the chamber orchestra. Rehearsal schedules are posted each month so students can plan their schedules accordingly
