As more information is obtained from online sources, it becomes increasingly important to know how to cite material you
have obtained from the Internet. Below is a guide I received through one of my discussion groups. In addition to Mr.
Page's Internet Citation Style Sheet, here are some other Internet Style sheets:
INTERNET CITATION STYLE SHEET
THE INTERNET: A BRIEF CITATION GUIDE FOR INTERNET SOURCES IN HISTORY AND THE
HUMANITIES
compiled by Melvin E. Page
pagem@etsuarts.east-tenn-st.edu
30 October 1995
The best book on this topic is Xia Li and Nancy Crane Electronic Style: A Guide to Citing Electronic
Information. Westport: Meckler, 1993 (SOON TO BE AVAILABLE IN A 1996 EDITION).
Until that resource is available (Tina has a number of guides in the Library and is familiar with the subject),
the following should suffice.
"Since the Internet is an evolving institution, this guide is not intended to be definitive."
