Note: Telephone communication with Cuba can be difficult. We advise that
you establish a time that you will call to your family associates. Be
sure to take a “telephone fund” with you (rates run $3USD
per minute). Calls to the U.S. can be made from most major hotels in Havana,
or from “ETECSA” phone booths using “ETECSA” phone
cards, which can be bought in dollar stores. In the case of an emergency
or other situation where you truly must be reached, advise friends and
associates to call the US Interests Section in Havana or Common Ground
or the Cuban Interests Section in the US (numbers listed below).
