A Word from the Department

Welcome to the Department of Economics at Carthage. The department offers an undergraduate major and minor in economics, and also provides a central core of courses for the International Political Economy major. The program offers a particular focus on international economics, but also provides a broad range of courses in core theory, quantitative methods and electives such as labor economics, urban/regional economics, money and banking, public finance, law and economics, and the history of economic thought.

This web site offers information on current and future course offerings, requirements for the economics major and minor, faculty, course syllabi and materials, the Carthage chapter of Omicron Delta Epsilon International Honor Society in Economics, and economic resources.

The Department of Economics is located in the A.W. Clausen Center for World Business, at the north end of campus.
