Partnerships & Organizations

The ScienceWorks program is affiliated with several business and professional associations that present opportunities to ESNS students, including access to patents, grants, business partners and mentors, product sponsorships, and experiential learning opportunities.


Student Organizations

Carthage has more than 85 student groups and organizations through which students can get involved, explore possible careers, meet other students, work closely with faculty advisors, and perform community service. (See a full list of Carthage student organizations.)

SIFE: Students in Free Enterprise

SIFE, open to all majors, works throughout the year on projects in six categories: Market Economics, Success Skills, Entrepreneurship, Financial Literacy, Business Ethics, Environmental Sustainability, and Sustainability. SIFE encourages active hands-on learning, teamwork, leadership development, communication, enhancement and educational growth. An annual Regional Competition provides the opportunity for every SIFE organization within the region to present what they have achieved throughout the year.


Partnerships

CATI: Center for Advanced Technology and Innovation
Carthage is a founding partner in CATI in Racine, Wis., a technology transfer, business incubator and entrepreneurship center. The partnership provides ESNS students access to patents, business partners and mentors, project sponsorships, and internships and experiential learning opportunities.

National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance
The National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance offers grants to Carthage students for innovative product development and entrepreneurial ventures, as well as a library of tools and access to special facilities and expert support.

Regional Business Associations
Carthage is also allied with the Kenosha Area Business Alliance and the Racine County Economic Development Corporation, and works with the Small Business Development Centers, the Racine Downtown Corporation, and many regional businesses and industries for the creation of a vital and successful business community.

U.S. Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship
The United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) is the largest independent, professional, academic organization in the world dedicated to advancing the discipline of entrepreneurship. USASBE has more than 1,000 members from universities and colleges, for-profit businesses, nonprofit organizations, and the public sector. It is dedicated to entrepreneurship education, research, outreach and policy.
