                       Executive Committee Meeting
                       Wisconsin Section of the MAA
                              April 16, 2005
   
  Present:  Jayanthi Ganapathy, John Koker, Kristen Lampe, Andy Matchett, 
            Ken Price, David Scott, Jeganathan Sriskandarajah.  



       This was a lunch meeting.  Between bites of pizza and sandwiches,   
       the following were agreed upon.

           1.  This year the first and second place prizes will both be
               $250.

           2.  Meeting evaluation.
               -  The signs were great.
               -  Preliminary figures indicate approximately 140 persons 
                  attended the meeting.
               -  Graduate student participation was very low.  The 
                  session for graduate students was underutilized, to say 
                  the least.  
               -  The invited talks were wonderful.  
               -  The number of contributed talks, approximately 25, was 
                  very nice.  The fact that it was down a bit had the 
                  very positive effect that the talks were well attended, 
                  for the most part.  
                  
           3.  We agreed to wait until people could check their schedules 
               to decide on the date of the September meeting of the 
               Exec. Committee.
