Executive Committee Meeting
Wisconsin Section of the MAA
April 21, 2007
 

Present: Mohammad Ahmadi, Ben Collins, Andy Matchett, Mark Snavely, Jeganathan Sriskandarajah. We were also joined by Martha Siegel and Jim Moore.

1. The meeting was called to order at 12:20 by Jeganathan Sriskandarajah. The meeting was held at the Green Mill Restaurant in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

2. Minutes of the Executive Committee Meeting of January 18, 2007, were approved after typographical errors were corrected, and the report by Mohammad Ahmadi was added to the minutes.

3. Jim Marty has announced that he will run the book sale for one more year. We need to find a replacement, so an announcement will be sent to the liasons.

4. MathFest in Madison (7/31-8/2, 2008) was discussed. Arrangements are made on the national level.

5. The Secretary/Treasurer was authorized to investigate investing the section's funds in an interest-bearing account, and to do so if a sensible option can be found.

6. It was noted that individuals can nominate someone for the Haimo award. The deadline for nominations is February 1.

7. The meeting adjourned at 1:30.
