Carthage hosts Family Fun Nights for the community on most Fridays during the school year.Professional storyteller Paddy Lynn came to Carthage for Family Fun night in January.In April 2010, the Carthage Chemistry Club hosted a Mad Science Lab during Friday Family Fun Night.In October 2010 the Burie Family hosted a Fall Festival for Family Fun Night.Events are free and open to the public. In Sept. 2010, Lisa Cinelli taught how words and pictures come together to make a story come to life.Families are welcome to use the TARC for swimming and other activities, as well as read in the library.Each Family Fun Night has a different theme, from music to science to dance.In Nov. 2010, the world of Harry Potter came to life when Hedberg Library transformed into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Lego artists Dave and John Xandegar have displayed their Lego creations nation-wide. Tonight they bring their skills and creativity with everyone's favorite building bricks to Family Fun Night. Join us for fun on the floor as we build, explore, and create.

Get Active

The TARC is available for use on Family Fun Night for a $1 donation to the Kenosha Boys & Girls Club. Swim in the pool, play basketball or racquetball, or use the athletic center. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 18 must have an adult directly supervising in the Semler Fitness Center. Activities available may vary.


Hungry?

Families visiting Carthage for Family Fun Night can take a break for snacks at Einstein's Bagels or Freshen's Frozen Yogurt. Both are located in Donna's Bytes across the lobby from the library.


Read a Good Book

Use the computers and peruse the books in Hedberg Library. The Center for Children's Literature in Hedberg Library has more than 25,000 children's books.
