


















Carthage is one of only three schools with teams still competing in both the NCAA Division III men's and women's basketball tournaments. Here are the details of the coming weekend's tournament action.

On Friday, the Red Men (24-5) face College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin rival Illinois Wesleyan (22-7) at 5:30 p.m. at Quandt Fieldhouse in Stevens Point. If Carthage wins Friday, the Red Men will face the winner of Pointers (25-4 vs. Texas-Dallas (24-5) at 7 p.m. on Saturday. Two wins would send the Red Men to Salem, Va., for the Division III Final Four for the second time in history.
Carthage has played Illinois Wesleyan three times this season. IWU's Titans won the first game, 79-69, on Jan. 9 in Bloomington, Ill. The Red Men won 80-55 on Jan. 30 at Tarble Arena, and defeated IWU, 70-67, in the title game of the CCIW tournament at Tarble Arena.
Tickets are $7 for adults, and $4 for students with IDs, and may be reserved by calling (715) 346-4100. There are separate tickets for each game Friday; the fieldhouse will be cleared after Carthage's game.
Alumni Relations will sponsor a pizza reception in Stevens Point from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Friday at the campus food court. This event is open to alumni, students and Carthage community fans.
Friday's game will be broadcast on WRJN (1400 AM) in Racine, with pregame programming starting at 5:10 p.m. WRJN will also broadcast if Carthage plays Saturday, starting at 6:40 p.m.

This year's team has won more games than any previous Lady Reds squad, and posted the first post-season wins ever for Carthage women's basketball. The Lady Reds (24-4) will face defending national champion George Fox (27-2) in a sectional semifinal game at 5 p.m. Friday at Washington University in St. Louis. The winner of that game will play at 7 p.m. Saturday against either host Washington (25-2) or Mount Union (26-4), for a berth in the Division III Final Four at Bloomington, Ill.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for students with IDs, and are good for admission to both games on Friday. There are no advance ticket sales.
