Chamber Music Series welcomes the Apsen Ensemble

The Carthage Chamber Music Series begins its 2009-2010 season on Sunday, Oct. 11, with a 3 p.m. performance by the Aspen Ensemble.

The Aspen Ensemble has established a first-class reputation for innovative, exciting performances. The ensemble features Rita Sloan on piano, Nadine Asin on flute, David Perry on violin, Victoria Chiang on viola and Michael Mermagen on cello. The ensemble has performed with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Juilliard Quartet, Metropolitan Opera, New York Philharmonic, China National Symphony, and other major orchestras and ensembles.

The concert begins at 3 p.m. in the A.F. Siebert Chapel. Tickets cost $15, $10 for students and senior citizens. A season pass is $30, $20 for students and senior citizens. No reservations are required. Tickets will be available at the door. For ticket information, call (262) 551-5859.

The Chamber Music Series is made possible with a grant from the Helen C. Smolenski Chamber Music Fund of the Racine Community Foundation. The series continues on Friday, Nov. 13, with a 7:30 p.m. performance by the Ying Quartet; and on Sunday, April 11, with a 3 p.m. concert by Manhattan Brass.

Faculty receives 2 complimentary season passes.  Students receive 1 complimentary season pass which can be picked up at JAC 112.  Music students: if you attend Department Recitals, your free complimentary pass will be distributed at the September 22 Department Recital.
