

The Department offers many opportunities for travel and field work. Field excursions can range from a local trip lasting a few hours to trips covering several thousand miles in a few weeks. The faculty have a diverse set of interests, and students should expect to visit urban, rural and suburban sites.
In addition to offerings through Carthage, credit can be earned through a variety of field programs. Contact the Geography and Earth Science faculty for more information.
Profs. Matt Zorn and Julio Rivera take students to Ometepe Island in Nicaragua every January and June.
Professor Zorn has take students to Big Bend National Park in Texas.
Professor Mast takes students to Northern Arizona and the Grand Canyon.
