Internships

The Carthage Career Services Office offers information for history majors about employment and internships. The office suggests the following resources to find history employment and internship opportunities:

J-Term

J-Term is a month-long period of study in January in which all academic departments at Carthage offer innovative courses on campus as well as study tours in other countries. J-Term offerings from the History Department include British History According to Hollywood, an on-campus course in which students will use film to study the history of the British Isles in the modern era; and Capitalist China: Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Colonialism, a study tour to Taiwan and Hong Kong in which students will explore the role that colonial policies and priorities had in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Student Fellows

Several history students are selected each semester to work asĀ  student fellows for the History Department. These fellows assist History Department faculty and other students.

Student Voices

"When looking for a college I was searching for one that would encourage me to expand my understanding of the world and challenge me. I believed that Carthage would be able to provide the experience for which I was searching."

— Brittany Mueller, '12, Streamwood, Ill.
