Homecoming Weekend also includes reunion dinners for: The Class of 1961, celebrating its 50th reunion; the Class of 1971, celebrating its 40th reunion; and Gold Plus for all Carthaginians who graduated prior to 1961. Reservations are required for reunion dinners.

"One Fine Sunday in the Funny Pages"

This show will be a unique, one-of-a-kind collection of today's comics, from the oldest, The Katzenjammer Kids and Gasoline Alley, to the newest, Dustin, and will be "a celebration of a quintessentially American Sunday pleasure." One Fine Sunday in the Funny Pages will feature the original art of 140 different comic strips and panels that were published in newspapers on the same Sunday (April 11, 2010). Among the participating cartoonists in the exhibit are Fernando Ruiz' Archie, Bill Amend's FoxTrot, Carole and Jack Bender's Alley Oop, Jan Eliot's Stone Soup, Jerry Scott and Jim Borgamn's Zits, John Hambrock's Edison Lee, Dean Young and John Marshall's Blondie, Patrick McDonnell's Mutts, Leigh Rubin's Rubes, Terri Libenson's Pajama Diaries, Tom Batiuk's Funky Winkerbean and Crankshaft, Paul Gilligan's Pooch Cafe, Sandra Bell Lundy's Between Friends, Norm Feuti's Retail, and Scott Stantis' Prickly City.

Carthage is proud to raise the championship banners for CCIW Men's Swimming, CCIW Men's Tennis and Moulton Championship Final 4 Men's Volleyball. Alumni also will witness the crowning of the Homecoming king and queen. In case of inclement weather, the Pep Rally will be held in the Todd Wehr Center, Jockey Club.

Alumni Breakfast Honoring 2011 Alumni Scholarship Recipients

This year's breakfast honors Alumni Scholarship recipients Micole Gauvin, '14, of Beloit, Wis., granddaughter of Joanne (McHugh) Hildebrandt, '58; Julie Gosselin, '14, of Pleasant Prairie, Wis., daughter of Karen (Lundberg) Gosselin, '80; and Megan Stroud, '14, of Belvidere, Ill., niece of Michael Buhl, '78. The Alumni Scholarships are awarded to relatives of Carthage graduates. They are funded entirely by gifts from alumni and friends of the College. Recipients receive $1,500 per year for four years. Three recipients are selected each year.

Featuring "Future Carthage Alumni," the Alumni Council, floats created by student groups, music and much more. A special viewing area along Campus Drive will be available for 1961, 1971 and Gold Plus alumni and their guests.

Parking

Campus Map

Parking is available on the north end of campus in Lots C, D, E and H. Limited parking also is available in Lot I adjacent to the N. E. Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center (TARC). Off-campus parking is available south of campus in Alford Park lot #5 and west of campus and Sheridan Road in Alford Park #4. Parking will not be allowed on Sheridan Road or on Campus Drive. Please note that Lot A located near the Tarble Arena is reserved for students with valid permits only.

Access to Campus
Saturday 10 a.m.-noon

Access to campus through the Leonard Entrance (north entrance) will be restricted from 10 to 11 a.m. Beginning at 11 a.m. Alford Park Drive, located directly in front of campus, will be closed until the completion of the Homecoming Parade. All of Campus Drive will be closed to all traffic from 11 a.m. to parade completion. Lot D will not be available for parking until noon, following the parade. Additionally, parking on the east side of Campus Drive will be available after the parade.

On-campus shuttle service will be available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1.
