Whether you are part of the Carthage community or a member of the general public, the Staubitz Archives welcomes you to use its collections.
Founded in 1930 as the Historical Society of Carthage College, the Staubitz Archives exists to document the life of Carthage College. For over eight decades, we have collected, preserved, and provided access to records and artifacts representing the rich history of Carthage College, the publications of faculty and staff, and the activities of the Carthage community.
Our collections include administrative records, college publications, photographs, audio/visual media, and materials related to student organizations and academic pursuits. Select collections, such as our yearbooks, are accessible in digital form online.
Explore one hundred and sixty-five years of Carthage history at the Staubitz Archives!
Did you know that we had a female Acting President in 1951? Or that during WWII Carthage had a sea plane training base on the Mississippi River? Check out our interactive timeline of Carthage history
