LOGON

In order to access your voice messages or access any other Call Pilot features,
you will need to log into your mailbox. 
Contact Ryan Ade for your initial password a rade@carthage.edu.

A. Lift Receiver or get dial tone by pressing your extension button
B. Dial the Call Pilot extension (6510) or press your "Message" key if availabe on phone
C. When prompted
- Enter your mailbox number (extension) followed by #
- Enter Temporary Password - followed by #. (Or your password if you are an existing user)

**Please note: The first time you log into your box, you will be prompted
    to change your password – just follow the prompts

LOGOFF – Logging out of your mailbox is not required, you may simply hang up your telephone. However, logging off is a good idea because it allows others waiting to get into Call Pilot Mail quicker access. It also decreases the possibility of a hacker seizing the Call Pilot port for their own use to hack the system or use it to commit telephone fraud.

Press 83 – Call Pilot will say "Good bye" 

CHANGE PASSWORD – A password is required for you to access your voice mailbox.  You should not keep your voice mail password posted in an easily accessible place. You should also avoid "easy" passwords. For example, 123456, or 222222. You should also avoid passwords like your date of birth. Don’t forget, you can use words as passwords because the numbers have letters associated with them.

Your password must be a min of 6 digits/max of 16 digits
Log in using your mailbox number and temporary or existing password

- Press 84 and follow the instructions given by Call Pilot
- Enter temporary or existing password followed by #
- Enter new password followed by #
- Enter new password again followed by #

Call Pilot will respond with: "Your password has been changed"

 **Please note, if you have forgotten your password you can contact Ryan Ade at extension 2146 for a temporary password change, which you will be required to make your own after the first use.

RECORD PERSONAL VERIFICATION – The personal Verification is used as a tag for your voice messaging. Personal Verification will let you know who left you a message in your mailbox by name instead of the system default extension. It also allows external callers more ease in contacting you when dialing by name from a voice menu or through-dial.

- Log in
- Press 82 then 9 – You will hear: "The personal verification is (name)" or "There is no name for personal verification for this mailbox (number)"
- Press 5 to record. Wait for tone, then speak your name and extension, only.
- Press # to stop - the system will play back "The personal verification is (Name)"
- Press 2 to hear the name again
- Press 5 to re-record'
- Press 83 to log off 

RECORD OR CHANGE PERSONAL GREETING – There are three types of personal greetings: internal, external, and temporary. Your external greeting is used for caller’s external to your telephone system. It may go into such details as your last name, the company you work for and how to get more assistance. Your internal greeting is generally shorter and more to the point. The temporary greeting is used when you are absent from the office for any extended period of time in place of your other greetings. You can enter an expiry date and time for the greeting to expire. When the greeting expires, your regular greeting will be played.

- Log In
To record External Greeting
- press 82 + 1
- press 5 - wait for tone to record
- press # when finished to end recording
- press 2 to replay greeting
- press 76 to delete greeting
- press 83 to log off

To record Internal Greeting
- press 82 + 2
- press 5 - wait for tone to record
- press # when finished to end recording
- press 2 to replay greeting
- press 76 to delete greeting
- press 83 to log off

To record Temporary Greeting
- press 82 + 3
- press 5 - wait for tone to record
- press # when finished to end recording
- press 2 to replay greeting
- to set dates the expiry date for your Temporary greeting, press 9 and
   follow the directions given by the voice prompts.
- press 76 to delete greeting
- press 5 - wait for tone to re-record
- press 83 to log off

PLAYING YOUR MESSAGES – The following commands assist you in retrieving your messages

Log In

Press:
- 2 to play message
- # pause during playback
- 2 to continue
- 1 to skip backward 5 seconds
- 3 to go forward 5 seconds
- 4 to skip backward one whole message
- 6 to skip forward a whole message
- 76 to delete message/restore 
- 86 go to specific message enter the message number in your voicemail box  (You must know the number of the message you are attempting to listen to)

REPLY TO MESSAGES – The following are easy ways to reply to the caller who left your message. (internal messages only)

To reply to a message from another Call Pilot User
Press
- 71 to reply without talking to the caller
- 5 wait for tone to record
- # to end recording
- 79 to send message

To return a call
- Press 9
- Call Pilot will call the person who left you a message*.

To forward a copy of  a message that you have received
-Press - 73 enter mailbox number followed by # (you may enter a list of numbers OR a Distribution List number)
- ## after mailbox number(s)
- 5 to record an introduction
- # to end the introduction
- 79 to send message

EXPRESS MESSAGING -- Sending a message without having to log in or ring the telephone of the person you want to leave a message for.

EXPRESS MESSAGING INTERNAL EXTENSION NUMBER – 6512
EXPRESS MESSAGING EXTERNAL EXTENSION NUMBER – 551-6512

- Dial the express messaging extension:
- Enter mailbox number followed by #
- Leave message after record tone
- Hang up when finished

DIAL BY NAME – Dial 6512 from on campus (off campus 551-6512)
If the individual’s extension is not known, however the name is, you dial 6512 and it will prompt you for the spelling of the last name, followed by the 1st name. It will provide the caller with the name and extension of the person and the system will dial the extension directly to connect the call.
