
Demos and Nibbles: Meet Individual Technology Objectives in Action:
Faculty interested in exploring and developing an Individual Technology Objective (ITO) are invited to stroll around Gallery B and learn about technologies that are being used by Carthage Faculty and Staff for teaching and learning.
An Individual Technology Objective (ITO) is a goal that facutly set to use technology at Carthage College. This objective can relate to teaching, research, productivity, or personal organization. ITOs are a type of professional development activity and can be put in your yearly professional activity report. Creating and carrying out an ITO is voluntary. ITOs are intended to help you and be a solution; not a stress inducer.
Stop by Gallery B for food, beverages, and demonstrations of various educational technologies. Booths will be set up around the gallery with faculty and staff demonstrating technologies and answering your questions. Learn how these technologies can be used to foster learning and productivity. Along with these technologies there will be a station to fill out an ITO interest form.

This objective can relate to your teaching, research, productivity, or personal organization. It should be something that you are not currently doing, but can envision being able to complete by the end of the academic year. Creating and carrying out an ITO is voluntary can can be done be contract, tenured, and tenure-track professors.
ITOs can be a continuous professional development process. For example, each year you could implement another one. Perhaps a future ITO will be influenced by or build upon what you did and learned during a previous ITO. You could also be inspired by a colleague's ITO and undertake similar one for yourself. The possibilities are endless and up to you.
