Below is a list of resources that describe and give examples of how technology is being used in higher education. Another way to find useful information is to do a Google search for a technology followed by words like "education" "learning" or "classroom." Here is such a search using iPad as the technology.

2011 Horizon Report

The Horizon Report is a yearly collaboration between the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative (ELI) and the New Media Consortium that identifies and describes emerging technologies that will have an impact on teaching and learning in higher education.

Google Apps for Education and Google Tutorials

Here at Carthage we use Google Apps for our email, but there is so much more you have access to via Google Apps. You can work collaboratively on projects in Google Docs, easily create a website in Google Sites, keep track of news in your field with Google Reader, blog using Blogger, and so much more. Plus, you can do these things using your Carthage email username and password. The first link provides information on all of the resources that are available to you through Google Apps for Education. The second link has great resources and classroom ideas for Google Apps.

Web 2.0 tools are a fun, free, and easy-to-learn technologies that have a great deal of educational potential. The first link is a list has 100 Web 2.0 technologies and descriptions of each one. The second link has a list of the top 100 educational tools based on user contributions. Each technology on the list has a description and also comments from contributors on how they have used the technology on their teaching.

This site provides a copious amount of resources on how to use technology in your classroom. Not all are specific to higher education, but most can be adjusted to accommodate various education levels.

The technology section of the Chronicle of Higher Education provides information on current issues, news, and trends in the use of technology in colleges and universities.
