Marketing Major Requirements

Students who study marketing at Carthage will graduate with the marketing skills necessary to succeed in their future careers, as well as the enduring analytical, communication and critical thinking skills necessary to lifelong learning, career advancement and community contribution.

Graduates of the marketing program in Carthage's Department of Business Administration must be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of business terminology and theories both in general business and specific to marketing.
  • Select and apply appropriate technology for analysis, research and presentation.
  • Work as effective members of a team.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills in decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Demonstrate appropriate oral and written communication skills.

In addition to the requirements listed above, marketing students are encouraged to take Functions, Graphs and Analysis (MATH 105). Students who plan to pursue an MBA are also encouraged to take Calculus I (MATH 112).
