Career-focused Curriculum
All mathematics courses at Carthage help students to acquire methods of logical reasoning and deduction, and to develop problem-solving skills for a wide variety of applications. Students choose the courses that best fit their future goals, whether they plan to attend graduate school; teach math in elementary or high school; or enter a career using problem-solving and analytical skills. Carthage also offers coursework in actuarial science and a pre-engineering program.
Hands-on Experience
Students have the opportunity to work closely with faculty on significant and varied research projects. For example, the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience, or SURE, pairs a student with a faculty member for the summer. Students receive a stipend and room and board.
