What can you do with a Modern Language major?

Whether you major in Chinese, French, German, Japanese or Spanish, your knowledge of a foreign language will make you a more attractive candidate to potential employers. Majoring in a foreign language is excellent preparation for many careers. It should be considered by students who are interested in government service, careers in international commerce and industry, teaching, joining the Peace Corps, or careers in criminal justice or social work.

Companies employing Carthage modern language graduates include C.C.I., the Kenosha Unified School District, the U.S. Embassy in Bonn, Germany, Accenture, Japan Airlines, National Rural Development Partnership, International Airlines, and International School Services.

Carthage modern language majors have gone on to careers as international account integration specialists, foreign language teachers, consultants and bilingual service representatives, or chosen to pursue graduate studies in arts, Latin American studies and German.
