Target Language Experts

Claudia Rodriguez

Claudia Rodriguez was born in Cuernavaca, Mexico, and teaches Spanish as a second language. She has a degree in communication sciences.

"My first contact with Spanish as a second language was more than 10 years ago. At that time a friend invited me to have conversations with students of different parts of the world that were studying Spanish in Cuernavaca," she says. "Since that moment I fell in love with this career and I decided to become a teacher. Teaching Spanish as a second language has been a wonderful experience for me. I have had the opportunity to meet amazing people from different cultures."

Ms. Rodriguez heard about Carthage's TLE program in 2008 and decided to apply.

"I am teaching my language and culture, and at the same time working on my master's degree. This is my second year here, and I can only say that it has been a terrific time," she says. "One of my best experiences here has been living in an international community. Living with people of six different countries has enriched my perspective about the world."

During her free time, Ms. Rodriguez enjoys dancing and going to the theatre, especially musicals.
