The Carthage Music Department is proud to offer a Bachelor of Arts: Emphasis in Vocal Performance as well as an interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts in Music Theatre. Carthage's tradition of excellence in music extends back several decades, and our vocal performance and music theatre graduates have gone on to careers in the arts that include performing at the Metropolitan Opera, performing in national music theatre tours, chairing major arts organizations, and directing regional theatre productions. Graduates of Carthage have gone on to earn advanced degrees in theatre directing, vocal performance, and arts administration.
Carthage's Music Theatre and Opera Program is uniquely collaborative. In the intimacy of the Carthage community, students are able to work together across disciplines, building performance skills and expanding their future possibilities.
Carthage has a unique geographic position within the Milwaukee-Chicago corridor, providing our students with opportunities to see current opera and music theatre productions. Additionally, this location provides our students with the opportunity to audition for regional productions, national tours, and summer stock.
