

Instrumental Ensemble Calendar of Events
The Carthage Chamber Orchestra performs music written for string orchestra as well as works for small chamber orchestra. Recent composers performed include Antheil, Barber, Beethoven, Biber, Copland, Ellington, Gould, Hanson, Haydn, Holst, Husa, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Purcell, Stravinsky, Vaughan Williams, Vivaldi, and Warlock.
The 2011-12 season includes works by Bach, Bizet, Boyce, Debussy, Gorecki, Handel, McPhee, Ravel, Respighi, and Verdi. The Chamber Orchestra will be performing for a Family Weekend Service, Christmas Festival, and a special performance with Fifth House Ensemble, our chamber ensemble in residence.
An exceptional opportunity also exists for musicians to perform in small chamber ensembles, including several string quartets.
Rehearsals are held from 5:00 to 6:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Chamber Orchestra meets Tuesday and Thursday, and String Orchestra meets Monday and Wednesday.
