The A. F. Siebert Chapel Choir is a 70-member choir that welcomes singers of a wide range of ability and experience. The choir's primary responsibility is to provide music for Chapel services and other College-wide events, but the choir is also active as a concert ensemble. The A. F. Siebert Chapel Choir has participated in such events as the Christmas Festival, the Third Annual Weston Noble Concert, Family Weekend Worship Service, and others. It is directed by Dr. Dimitri Shapovalov, assistant professor of music at Carthage.
Approximately two-thirds of the ensemble consists of non-music majors. The ensemble is enthusiastic about sharing its music with Carthage audiences, and rehearsals are always filled with laughter. In its mission to reach out to every member of the Carthage community, the Chapel Choir explores a diverse body of repertoire that ranges from the Western art music tradition to African-American spirituals to musical theater.
New members are welcome. To inquire about trying out for the A. F. Siebert Chapel Choir, contact Dr. Shapovalov at the e-mail below.
