Carthage Theatre Department presents 'W;t'

November 21, 2009

The Carthage Theatre Department presents "W;t" Dec. 10-12.

"W;t" tells the story of Vivian Bearing, Ph.D., a renowned professor of English who has spent years teaching the brilliant and difficult metaphysical sonnets of John Donne. Bearing has been diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer. Her approach to the study of Donne is aggressively probing, intensely rational. But during the course of her illness — and her stint as a prize patient in an experimental chemotherapy program at a major teaching hospital — she comes to reassess her life and her work with a profundity and humor that are transformative both for her and the audience.

"W;t" was written by Margaret Edson. The play is directed by Thomas Novak.

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Dec. 10-12. For tickets, contact the Carthage Theatre Department box office, (262) 551-6661, or send an e-mail to theatretickets@carthage.edu.
