Dr. Kevin Casas-Zamora, a senior fellow in Foreign Policy and in the Latin America Initiative of the Brookings Institution, will present a public lecture at Carthage on Tuesday, Dec. 1. Dr. Casas-Zamora served as Costa Rica's vice president and minister of national planning and economic policy from 2006 to 2007. He has authored several studies on political finance, elections, democratization, and civil-military relations in Latin America.
Dr. Casas-Zamora will speak on the trials of democratic governance in Central America from 11:40 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Niemann Media Theatre.
The first 50 people to arrive at Niemann Theatre will be offered a ticket to join Dr. Casas-Zamora for an informal lunch in the Todd Wehr Center following the lecture.
Dr. Casas-Zamora will also be a guest on WGTD 91.1's The Morning Show, hosted by Carthage music professor Greg Berg, at 8 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30.
