Professional storyteller Paddy Lynn presents Color My World, a program of storyacting, during the first Family Fun Night of 2010.

Color My World: Storyacting with Paddy Lynn will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, in the Niemann Media Theatre in Hedberg Library. Admission is free.
Storyacting is the combination of storytelling and acting. Ms. Lynn and the audience will use familiar books, poetry, colorful costumes, props and a touch of magic to act out stories. It is a very interactive performance; everyone will be engaged. Children join Ms. Lynn on stage while other audience members provide sound effects, music and other special effects.
The evening will enhance children's imagination and creativity, and further appreciation of reading and acting for all ages.
Paddy Lynn is a Chicago-area performer who was bitten early by the acting bug. She graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor's degree in theatre, and helped begin a children's theatre company that performed in schools in the Chicago/Metropolitan area. She now performs storyacting for schools and organizations, and teaches acting classes for children and adults. She's also worked as a substitute teacher and teacher's aide in elementary schools.
Carthage holds Family Fun Night events on most Friday evenings during the school year. Hedberg Library and the N.E. Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center are open to families in the community for an evening of learning, exercise and fun. Themed activities take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Niemann Media Theatre, Hedberg Library. Admission is free.
Families are welcome to read or use the computers on their own from 6 to 10 p.m. Families can browse the Children's Literature Center, with more than 20,000 children's books, from picture books through high school. Einstein's Bagels and Freshen's Frozen Yogurt are located in Donna's Bytes across the lobby from the library.
The TARC is available for a $1 donation to the Kenosha Boys & Girls Club. Families can play basketball or racquetball, or use the indoor track and cardio equipment. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Anybody under the age of 18 must have an adult directly supervising in the Semler Fitness Center.
