In 2009, associate professor of economics Ron Cronovich was one of five speakers at a one-day conference at Harvard University on "Teaching Economics in an Economic Crisis," hosted by N. Gregory Mankiw, a Harvard professor who wrote two best-selling textbooks and served as chair of the President's Council of Economic Advisors during 2003-2005.
Other speakers included Mankiw and representatives from the U.S. Treasury, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. The conference was attended by roughly 100 people, mostly college professors.
