Faculty Position in Elementary/Middle and Special Education

Carthage College invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Education with a specialty in Elementary/Middle and Special Education. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in instructional methods for both the elementary/middle (grades 1-8) and special education, cross-categorical licensure programs, and advising. Opportunities to teach graduate courses are available. Candidates should possess a doctoral degree in a relevant area, and have a minimum of three years of K-12 experience in general and special education classrooms. In addition to formal scholarly credentials, candidates must have enthusiasm for teaching and undergraduates in a small college atmosphere.

Founded in 1847, Carthage is located on the shore of Lake Michigan, midway between Milwaukee and Chicago, and offers quick urban access from the relaxed environment of a small city. The Carthage curriculum is designed to promote critical thinking while challenging students to express themselves effectively through a variety of media.
