Carthage seeks Coordinator of Clinical Experiences and Student Teaching

The Education Division at Carthage College seeks a Coordinator of Clinical Experiences and Student Teaching.

The Coordinator of Clinical Experiences and Student Teaching acts as a vital link to the local school districts and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. The person who fills the position is expected to be a contributing member of the Education Division and a liaison to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Position reports to:
Education Department Chair

Position duties:

  • Make contacts with local school personnel and work with Education faculty members to secure appropriate sites for clinical experiences;
  • Participate in all Education Department activities (meetings, convocations, etc.);
  • Develop an assessment system for Student Teacher of the Year;
  • Act as student teaching and intern director for the Education Division (assign student teachers and interns);
  • Teach a foundations course each semester;
  • Act as Certification Officer;
  • Attend statewide trainings and meetings necessary to fulfill duties;
  • Review student background checks;
  • Coordinate the student teaching seminar;
  • Develop and work with student teaching supervisors and cooperating teachers;
  • Serve as a liaison between faculty and student teaching supervisors;
  • Serve, one evening per week, as advisor for Adult Education students; and
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Education Department and Division Chairs.

Qualifications:

  • • Master’s degree in Education; and
  • • Successful teaching experience in southeast Wisconsin.

Position length of contract:
This is a 12-month contract.
