The Kenosha Choral Arts Society, directed by Carthage music professor Dimitri Shapovalov, will hold its spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at First United Methodist Church, 919 60th St., Kenosha. Admission is free.
The Kenosha Choral Arts Society is a Carthage-associated community ensemble that includes many Carthage staff members, faculty and alumni. The ensemble will perform music by Copland and Brahms, as well as Five Hebrew Love Songs by the celebrated American contemporary composer Eric Whitacre. The ensemble will share the stage with guest ensemble Musici Amici, directed by maestro Gregory Berg.
The Kenosha Choral Arts Society, formerly the Carthage Masterworks Chorale, is a Kenosha-based community choir that boasts a long history of contributing to the Kenosha arts scene. Last fall the ensemble performed the Fifth Annual Messiah Sing-Along with Prof. Berg and the Fine Arts at First Festival Orchestra.
