Carthage will host a panel discussion on political reform in the state of Wisconsin, featuring state Sen. Bob Wirch (D-Kenosha) and state Rep. Peter Barca (D-Kenosha), on Monday, April 18. Carthage professor Jerald Mast will also serve as a panelist.
The event is presented by Common Cause in Wisconsin, and sponsored by the Political Science Department, Pi Sigma Alpha, Carthage College Republicans, and Carthage College Democrats.
The discussion will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Todd Wehr Center, Jockey Room B. Topics include the voter ID bill that is currently before the legislature, campaign finance disclosure requirements, redistricting, and the effect of the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in the Citizens United case.
