Two Carthage alumni took part in the second annual Chicago Fringe Festival, a festival of original theatre held Sept. 1-11, 2011, in the city's Pilsen neighborhood.

Colleen Burkhart, '09, and Jessica Smith, '11, participated in the production of Nearly Naked, written by Ms. Burkhart. The play was staged five times Sept. 1-11 at the Dream Theatre in Chicago.

Chicago Fringe is a group of Chicago-based artists and producers who come together for an annual theatre festival featuring original, unusual works by emerging and established artists. Part of a national Fringe movement, the Chicago Fringe Festival seeks to attract non-traditional theatre-goers to unique performances of dance, theater and comedy.

Described as "Clue meets Rocky Horror Picture Show," Nearly Naked is a "lingerie party murder mystery." For the past two years, Victor and his four friends have been throwing a Bacchanal style party. During the party, Victor drops dead, setting into motion the search for the murderer among his group of friends.
