Award-winning children's book illustrator Amy Cardova visits Carthage March 16

Award-winning children's book illustrator Amy Cordova will visit Carthage on Friday, March 16, for a special Friday Family Fun Night. Area families are invited to Hedberg Library to explore art at the 6 p.m. hands-on event.

Ms. Cordova is an artist, author, educator, and two-time winner of ALA's Pura Belphre Honors Award, a Wisconsin Library Association Award, and recent America's Award. She has authored two books for children: "Abuelita's Heart" and "Talking Eagle and The Lady of Roses."

Ms. Cordova's visit is co-sponsored by the Carthage Center for Children's Literature and the Kenosha Public Library. She will speak at the Kenosha Boys and Girls Club at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 15.

Books will be available for purchase and autographing. There is no charge to attend either event.
