Carthage is offering two four-year adult education scholarships to qualifying residents of the City of Kenosha seeking their first bachelor's degree. Each tuition-only scholarship is worth more than $110,000.

Eligible residents must be at least 25 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2012, and possess a minimum 3.5 grade point average on a four-point scale. Applications, which would include transcripts and a 1,000-1,200 word essay, must be submitted by Jan. 16, 2012.
An essay should address why attending Carthage is important to the applicant, how the applicant would benefit from a Carthage degree, and why the Carthage Adult Education program will meet their needs. Enrollment in Carthage's part-time undergraduate adult education program has tripled in the past three years.
"These scholarships are another great example of the strength of the relationship between Carthage and the Kenosha community," said Michael West, associate vice president for adult education at the College. "As adult learners play an increasing role in business and economic development, both locally and nationally, we're pleased to offer these scholarships to outstanding students in the City of Kenosha.”
Carthage's Adult Education Office will select the strongest applicants, and invite these candidates to campus for an interview sometime in February 2012. Scholarship recipients will be notified no later than March 15, 2012.
