The Carthage Wind Orchestra will present a joint concert with the Concordia College Band from Moorhead, Minn., on Valentine's Day as part of the Concordia band's mid-winter tour.
The show is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the A.F. Siebert Chapel. The two bands will perform separately, then in combination for the finale.
The Concordia College Band from Moorhead, Minn., will perform a concert at Carthage on Valentine’s Day as part of its mid-winter tour. The Concordia band’s scheduled music includes compositions by Peter Mennin, Percy Grainger, Steven Bryant and Michael Gandolfi. The program includes a wide variety of sacred and secular music, including marches by Henry Fillmore and Karl L. King. The Carthage orchestra will open the concert with Ron Nelson’s Lauds (Praise High Day).
According to its website, the Concordia College Band tours nationally each year and internationally every few years. The ensemble is scheduled to tour internationally again in May.
The concert is free and open to the public. Doors to the Siebert Chapel will open at 7 p.m.
