This book is a great way for younger children to learn the alphabet and animals at the same time. The pictures are quite cartoon-like but are a fair representation of the species they signify. The information provided is also accurate for beginning readers. However, some of the words may be too difficult to read and pronounce so an adult would need to help children read the detailed information under the letter and animal. The book is very colorful and eye catching. It would be fun for kids to take this book to the zoo with them and try to find the animals listed.

Annual Seuss-a-thon event draws book-lovers of all ages to the Center for Children's Literature.
