Carthage has two established dual-degree occupational therapy programs for students interested in obtaining a master of science in occupational therapy (MSOT) or a clinical doctorate in occupational therapy (OTD).
Students spend three years at Carthage to earn a bachelor’s degree, and then continue their education at either Washington University in St. Louis or Rush University.
The 3+2 program allows students to earn a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in five years instead of six years. The program with Washington University also offers the option to obtain a bachelor’s degree and a clinical doctorate degree in six years rather than seven years.
Occupational therapy is a health profession dedicated to enabling people to participate fully in their lives and to achieve self-sufficiency, social integration, improved health status, employment, and quality of life. Using strategies, techniques and technology, occupational therapists help people of all ages to regain, develop or master everyday skills in order to live independent, productive and satisfying lives.
