Carthage Microgravity Program

Outreach Activities — 2010

As part of NASA's Systems Engineering Educational Discovery program, students go into area schools to talk about the experiments they conducted aboard NASA's Weightless Wonder microgravity aircraft. The 2010 Carthage Microgravity Team participated in the following outreach activities:

  • Gateway Technical College — Engineering Fair
    A team member judged high school fair projects and offered experience and knowledge gained with our research experience.

  • Harvey Elementary — Chat & Chew
    Three team members gave a 30-minute presentation about the program and how students can become involved.

  • Mahone Middle School — classroom presentation
    Three team members gave a 30- minute presentation about the program and how students can become involved.

  • Lincoln Middle School — classroom presentation
    Three team members gave a 30- minute presentation about the program and how students can become involved.

  • Lance Middle School — classroom presentation
    Three team members gave a 30-minute presentation about the program and how students can become involved.

  • Lakeview Tech Academy — classroom presentation
    Three team members gave a 30- minute presentation about the program and how students can become involved.

  • Brookwood Middle School — classroom presentation
    Four team members gave a 30- minute presentation about the program and how students can become involved.

  • Carthage College — Semi-Annual Meeting of the Natural Science Division Board
    Three team members described the research done during flight week.

  • Carthage College — Natural Science Colloquium
    Three team members will describe their experiences during flight week

  • Carthage College — Family Fun Night
    Three team members will talk to Kenosha families about their experiences with NASA.

Flying High

"It's not really an experience that everyone gets to have, feeling lunar gravity or zero gravity. I don't think there's one person on that plane who isn't smiling once we get up there."
