SURE: Summer Undergraduate Research Experience

J-Term

J-Term is a month-long period of study in January in which all academic departments offer innovative courses on campus, as well as study tours in other countries. For pre-health students, J-Term offers many benefits. Some pre-health students choose to take a required course during J-Term in order to give the course their full attention. For other pre-health students, J-Term is a chance to conduct field work in another country, such as Belize or Arizona; or to find out what it’s like to treat patients while working in medical clinics in Nicaragua. J-Term allows science majors the opportunity to gain these experiences in the field without disrupting their rigorous academic schedules.

Dual Degree Programs: Medical Physics, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy

Carthage offers a dual degree programs in medical physics, occupational therapy and pharmacy, in which students complete three or four years of undergraduate study at Carthage, and two years in an partnering graduate program at another school.

Student Voices

"The thing I love most about Carthage is the feeling of community. Even as I learn to think and act as an individual, Carthage has also taught me the importance of being a part of something bigger than myself."

— Bridget Holck, '11, McHenry, Ill.
