Kelly Stengert, '07

Majors: Psychology, Music

Kelly Stengert graduated from Carthage in May 2007 with a B.A. in Psychology and Music. As a Carthage student, she was Concertmaster of the Chamber Orchestra and a member of Psi Chi Psychology Fraternity. Her favorite classes included Philosophy and many of the biological and cognitive courses in Psychology.

Ms. Stengert is currently a third-year law student at Hamline University School of Law. She received a full-tuition scholarship for all three years from Hamline, and is completing a Health Law Certificate and a Healthcare Compliance Certificate from Hamline's Health Law Institute. She has worked for the past two years as a clerk for a family law firm and as a student representative for Westlaw. She is also interning with the U.S. Attorney's Healthcare Fraud division this semester. Upon graduation in May 2010, she hopes to find employment in either Wisconsin or Minnesota.

"I believe my years at Carthage prepared me for the challenges of law school better than a larger university would have," Ms. Stengert said. "The personal and individual attention Carthage students receive in every single class is invaluable. Faculty members are highly qualified and accomplished, yet very focused on teaching. I don't doubt that my full-tuition scholarship for law school had a lot to do with the writing and analytical skills I refined during college."
