American Psychological Association
The American Psychological Association is a scientific and professional organization with 150,000 members worldwide. The association’s mission is to advance the creation, communication and application of psychological knowledge to benefit society and improve lives. The Association’s web site has a student section that offers articles, career guidance, undergraduate resources, graduate school guidance, and more.

Association for Psychological Science
The Association for Psychological Science aims to promote, protect and advance the interests of scientifically oriented psychology in research, application and teaching. Its http://psychologicalscience.org/apssc/ Student Caucus (APSSC) provides information on research grants, research award competitions, mentoring programs, service opportunities and other information.

Midstates Consortium for Math and Science
Carthage is a member of the 11-state Midstates Science and Math Consortium, giving Carthage students access to facilities at other schools including the University of Chicago and Washington University in St. Louis. This consortium, founded by the Pew Charitable Trusts, provides development opportunities for students and faculty, hosts two annual symposia on undergraduate research, and offers faculty development workshops.

The Pavlovian Society
The Pavlovian Society is dedicated to the scientific study of behavior and promotion of interdisciplinary scientific communication. It holds an annual meeting every fall, in which students have presented research, and also offers research awards and an annual student poster award.

Society for Neuroscience
The Society for Neuroscience is an organization of more than 38,000 scientists and physicians who study the brain and nervous system. Its annual meeting is the world’s largest forum for emerging research on brain science and health. The society offers professional development activities and educational resources, and also publishes The Journal of Neuroscience.
