SAIL: Students Accelerated in Learning

Set your child on a course of
adventure and learning

SAIL 2010: Monday, June 21 - Friday, June 25

Many children have extensive and diverse needs that frequently are not met in the regular classroom. SAIL provides courses taught by college faculty, visiting professionals, and teachers of the gifted and talented. During their week on campus, students who have recently finished first through eighth grade will experience an environment of inquiry, creativity and cooperative learning. Diverse and intellectually stimulating courses will enhance students’ potential and encourage them to develop positive attitudes about their unique talents and abilities.

We invite you to take a look at our course offerings. Please check back frequently to view new courses as they are added to the curriculum.

Program Details

  • Classes meet five times, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

  • Students are eligible for courses based on the grade level last completed. In other words, a student who has just completed fourth grade is considered a fourth-grader, not a fifth-grader.

  • Courses will be limited to 20 students.

  • Carthage reserves the right to cancel courses with insufficient enrollment.

  • Fees: $175 per course. (Some courses require an additional $25 materials fee.)

  • Payment must accompany registration. Please make checks payable to Carthage College.

  • Refunds will only be given for cancellations received on or before June 1.

  • Confirmation of courses will be mailed at the beginning of June.

  • If you have any questions, contact Lynn Dahl at (262) 551-5924.
