

Carthage's field education program is an essential part of the Social Work Program's success. Through field education, students gain hands-on experience in various areas of social work. This can help them determine which area best fits their skills and future goals,
At Carthage, students are required to fulfill a minimum of 656 hours of volunteer fieldwork. In Practice I (3200), Practice II (3300), and Practice III (4200) students are required to fulfill three hours of volunteer fieldwork a week, or 52 total hours, for each course. In Social Work 4610 and 4620, students are required to fulfill 250 hours for each course.
